Current or Previously Unidentified Species 551-600

DAY 553 UPDATE: Can confirm the species debuted in The Acolyte S1 E1! JLD also said it was seemingly based off of an older piece of concept art he made for the sequel trilogy and was not designed specifically for this show, though I don’t think that particular art piece has been made public as I cannot find it on any of his accounts.

DAY 566 UPDATE: My theory was proven true as this species did indeed make it’s animated debut in “Tales of the Empire,” given our best look at the species yet, and also giving us our first named instance of the character, “Ahmar.” Henceforth, this species can and will be referred to “Ahmar’s Species,” and I sincerely hope we get a concept/production sheet of the character (I’m leaving a spot open for that below), if not a name for the species in the BTS supplementary media on starwars.com.

Additionally, friend of the page and concept artist, Jake Lunt Davies, has stated that this species was originally designed by fellow concept artist and sculptor Luke D Fisher! While I have yet to come across their original concept art as of yet, Davies was involved enough with the various films to know who designed who, so we can go ahead and take his word for it! (I also had the opportunity to create the Wookieepedia page for this one, so feel free to check that out!)

DAY 572 UPDATE: Illustrator Andres Ponce (@Starmanfrombey1) quote tweeted this entry with “Fun times,” to which I replied underneath and asked if there was any basis for this particular design. He confirmed that there was not, and it was something they made up specifically for this comic just for fun! That puts to rest any potential theories we may have had, but at the very least we got one new named species out of this short comic: the Themians.

DAY 593 UPDATE: Noticed a made a sort of major typo here, as the “Payback” short comic appears in “Tales #18,” not “Tales #8,” sorry.

DAY 594 UPDATE: We got some additional perspectives of the species in the background of the first episode of “The Acolyte!”

DAY 600 UPDATE: I decided the rightful “Ruler of Mandalore” (even if technically only for a moment) was deserving of our Day 600 slot!
