Current or Previously Unidentified Species 1001-1050

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1001 UPDATE: I announced this a while back, but if you were confused, starting on Day 1001 going forward, I plan to periodically cover unpictured unidentified species alongside those with depictions. As you can tell, I’ll just include an image of whatever piece of media they first appeared in instead of the actual alien.

DAY 1002 UPDATE: Still waiting on someone to do this:

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1003 UPDATE: Ran into essentially every dead end regarding this and the other unidentified Republic Senate species from the prequel trilogy. Leland Chee was asked directly about them and he revealed they didn’t have individual entries within the Holocron Continuity Database, but were instead all lumped together, seemingly given their obscure, low-effort nature as existing only to fill large scene backgrounds. That already made me less than hopeful that any real info regarding them existed within Lucasfilm, and what little hope I had left was essentially dashed with the next revelation.

Another species enthusiast that sometimes assists with the series also reached out to Steve Molin, ILM’s Sequence Supervisors and Development Lead during TPM, asking if he had any knowledge, and he told them that the species were essentially just kitbashed from random elements with little rhyme or reason under the supervision of the legendary costume-maker Anne Polland, who passed away back in 2001, and taking any additional knowledge with her. Molin did reveal that they were generally portrayed by random ILM staff, including himself on one occasion, but that’s where the revelations end. I’m currently not at liberty to share the exact screenshots of this conversation, though I hope you can take my word for it. For further info, refer to the Wookieepedia page I made for the species here: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_ape-like_species.

DAY 1012 UPDATE: The species technically fell within the updated notability policy on Wookieepedia I helped establish, so here’s the article I created: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Bin_Essada%27s_species

DAY 1021 UPDATE: Had to make a TON of Wookieepedia articles for species from “The Mandalorian” after the live action notability policy finally passed, and this one is no exception: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_pink-and-white_species.

SPECIES: The Force

DAY 1025 UPDATE: This is a unique case… not actually an alien, as I honestly should have predicted given their appearance, but instead seemingly a manifestation of the Force or Force entity in some capacity. Non-biological and only existing within a vision, though not a figment of the imagination I don’t believe. Up for interpretation for sure, but I don’t believe “alien” is a valid interpretation outside of something to do with the Whills I suppose, and even though, their nature as a “species” or pantheon of microscopic aliens is dubious.

DAY 1027 UPDATE: The Wookieepedia article I made for this species: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_blue_long-faced_species.

DAY 1028 UPDATE: The species was identified within subsequent issues as the “Sinsarans.”

DAY 1033 UPDATE: Really hoping to eliminate some of these unidentified articles I made sooner rather than later: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_yellow-skinned_enlarged-cranium_species.

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1034 UPDATE: This species actually reappears, whether through the same individual or another, in the subsequent “Galaxy Guide 11: Criminal Organizations.”

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1035 UPDATE: N/A

SPECIES: Gigoran

DAY 1036 UPDATE: The episode ended up identifying this species as a young Gigoran, definitely hard to tell just from appearance, though I feel this design takes inspiration from both their Canon depiction and at least one of their EU illustrations. Interested to see how their young look within Canon.

SPECIES: Houk

DAY 1037 UPDATE: Formally identified within the issue as the long-established Houk species, just depicted unusually smooth on the cover.

SPECIES: Elomin

DAY 1038 UPDATE: Unfortunately featured already-established species THREE DAYS in a row… this one was identified by the illustrator as intended to be an Elomin.

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1040 UPDATE: Had a lot of fun documenting all of the new unidentified Andor S2 aliens on Wookieepedia, and this one was no exception: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_wide-nosed_species.

SPECIES: Sikurdian

DAY 1045 UPDATE: This one’s my mistake, as it seems they had already previously been established to be a Sikurdian, just wildly different from the illustration I associated with the species.

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1048 UPDATE: These species man… still documented them: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_species_(RTK111).

SPECIES: Dug

DAY 1049 UPDATE: It appears the general community consensus is that this is a Dug, and despite not being able to see their torso which would 100% determine, I can’t say I even disagree. Everything in this issue is a bit spikier than it should be, and there are a ton of actual unidentified on later pages, so lets go with that for now.

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 1050 UPDATE: This episode turned out to be full of species from a Muun to a Sakiyan to a Vobati, though this one remains distinct and unnamed. We did learn that the character is named Ba’ken, and that they were designed by Tadashi Hiramatsu.
