DAY 756 UPDATE: Got to create the Wookieepedia article for this one: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_slimy_species. Keeper of the Holocron Leland Chee also spoke a bit about this species, pointing out that they appear on Diayu in “Kenobi,” albeit just one of their heads in a fish tank-like contraption, granting some fascinating implications to the species lore. After I sort of brought up a discrepancy regarding two TLJ species being referred to by the production code “King 21” in the film’s artbook, Chee also realized this one had been mistakenly assigned 2 codes, with it’s correct code actually being King 36. This means the true King 21 was Day 571 species, and the other species that had been assigned 2 codes (King 36 and King 66A, the latter being official), was Day 349s!

SPECIES: Vazooan

DAY 774 UPDATE: This species has been officially identified as the Vazooans. We see four different color variations throughout Skeleton Crew: blue, green, purple, and brow, and learn they seem to have bird-like legs and four arms, despite these almost never being seen throughout the entirety of the show.

We’re still waiting to see more full-body adult depictions, and have yet to learn where exactly they originated, though it appears to have been from one of the “Jewels of the Old Republic,” as they can be found seemingly exclusively on at least two of those worlds. More behind-the-scenes shots of the species can be found under the “Roona” section here: https://www.legacyefx.com/skeleton-crew.

DAY 788 UPDATE: The late-2024 “Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy” identifies this character as a Human, however, because five or six other clearly near-Human species are simply referred to as Human in the guide, I’m going to have to wait for a secondary source to back this up before I make the revelation official…

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 793 UPDATE: The character’s name was revealed to be Tuut Orial by the actor who portrayed them, Alan Resnick, who revealed it’s an partial anagram of his Youtube Channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/alantutorial. Having a name definitely makes this species a tad easier to name within future media!

SPECIES: (still unidentified)

DAY 794 UPDATE: Had an interesting discussion with some other fans regarding this species similarities in design to traditional M’shento’su’Nikto, also known as Southern or Orange Niktos. Sadly, illustrator Ramon Rosanas cleared the air stating it was not intentional, but that he liked the idea.
