DAY 251 UPDATES: Rereading “AoR – Lando” and apparently I never looked at the last page, but our friend reappears again there! What a lovely design (would feel right at home in live action)!

SPECIES: (still unidentified)
DAY 252 UPDATES: I would just like to add that this species reappears five issues later in “Star Wars (1977) #90” where they are portrayed as purple instead of this orangish-yellow, although the pictures seen above are shaded in a color that helps them blend into the background, meaning there’s a higher likelihood that they are indeed purple (at least some of them) instead of orange.

SPECIES: (still unidentified)
DAY 253 UPDATES: A small, parodical, Mandalorian-related comic printed in “Star Wars Insider #196” seemingly featured a cartoonish depiction of the character/species above. The more I see of it, the less I believe it’s actually a Devaronian. We still lack any proof that he has ears at all, which would be a pretty interesting trait for a species like this! I would love to know if the artist, Jamie Cosley, got to see the full costume before designing this character.

DAY 259 UPDATES: Briefly spoke to Leland Chee about this one but all he said was that he currently did not have them listed as a specific species within the Holocron Continuity Database, just as a group, and said it’s possible they still could just be Humans, despite the almost stereotypical “reptilian-sounding” voices.

DAY 261 UPDATES: Unfortunately the discussion I linked in the second tweet of the thread was removed… however, it was backed up by the helpful editors over at Wookieepedia a while back, so an archived version can be found here: https://archive.md/Bt5MA. In this linked thread, Pablo Hidalgo does indicate that Quinar can be found at Niima Outpost in TFA (if they even appear at all), though going frame-by-frame I still haven’t seen them. Again, it’s also possible they may not be an alien at all, but instead just a Human in an in-universe ghillie suit, given the department that created the costume, but unfortunately, we still can’t say more until they give us more to work off of!
SPECIES: (still unidentified)
DAY 262 UPDATES: This was one of the last new JS species I was able to attribute to an artist, but like Bhima Ook, we can now confirm that Pili’s in-game model was designed by one or more individuals employed at Little Red Zombies Studios, a 3D Character Production company operating out of Telangana, India! We can identify this because of their ArtStation portfolio, which included the images below. It’s very possible the species was still initially designed by Jean-francois Rey, who created the sketches for many of the other characters/new species in the game, however, we’ll have to wait until the official art book drops before we can say for sure.

DAY 266 UPDATES: It was pointed out that in 2023’s “The High Republic: Path of Vengeance,” a new character named Calar is introduced who belongs to a never before mentioned species known as the “Setaran.” The Setaran are described fairly in-depth, with said description aligning closely with this species’ appearance. Having a domed hairless head, no visible mouth, deep-set pupilless eyes, gills or gill-like growths under their cheeks, and pale flesh, the Letrun Pay and his kind could easily be confirmed to be Setarans. Unfortunately, no confirmation has come quite yet, so we will have to continue to keep an eye on the species and the name.

DAY 267 UPDATES: Dae Woo Lee aka “RED GORILRA” has been revealed to be the character designer for most of this episode, so it’s reasonable to believe this is one of his designs as well. See Day 238’s Updates for more information and a link to his socials.

SPECIES: Vonomi
DAY 270 UPDATE: Keeper of the Holocron, Leland Chee, mentioned that this species was intended to be named the Vonomi before he left Twitter. Fortunately, said tweet has been archived and can be found at the link here: https://web.archive.org/web/20201101114252/https://twitter.com/HolocronKeeper/status/1319743019390697472.
Originally, we didn’t treat this as fully official among the species enthusiast community, however, I believe at least one other instance of it being used may have popped up somewhere (Leland may have been consulted on it again in fact, and if I find that, I will share it), and eventually it was sort of universally accepted as the species in-universe name, so if Wookieepedia made the switch, then I will as well.
On that note, a trusted mutual Quoted this entry and tagged Cavan Scott in the comments regarding a potential Vonomi appearance in The High Republic. Scott simply replied with “Hello!” which could mean he didn’t pay attention to my tweet, or maybe a cheeky admission that he agreed with the idea. Either way, he did not deny this request, so do with that information what you will. (Cavan Scott also did and potentially still does have a private account, so if you haven’t requested and been approved to follow, the tweet may not appear if you try to view it in it’s original state on Twitter/X.)

SPECIES: Anomid
DAY 272 UPDATES: It was brought to my attention that this species greatly resembles the Legends appearance of the Anomid species. The Anomid are Canon, and have even been seen in live action, although they are always only identifiable by their matching, full-face masks, so we’ll have to wait and see additional Canon illustrations of the species before we can confirm or deny these claims.
SPECIES: (still unidentified)
DAY 273 UPDATES: This does seemingly at least partially align with some depictions of the “Ugor” species across both Canon (such as OrbaLin below) and even a bit of Legends, though not enough that I’m confident in confirming this as blobs don’t have many identifying features.

DAY 276 UPDATES: Concept artist Jake Lunt Davies replied and said he believes sculptor and artist Julian Murray designed Cherff, however, this has yet to be 100% confirmed.
It’s also worth noting that in the novelization of “Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” this bust is referred to as being of an old, bearded Human, however, that’s obviously not the case when looking at it visually.

DAY 295 UPDATES: Two individuals belonging to a purple species bearing VERY similar traits appeared throughout The Book of Boba Fett, one in Chapter 1 (right) and another in Chapter 2 (middle) and Chapter 6 (left), both residing at Madam Garsa Fwip’s “Sanctuary.” Upon close inspection it is evident that they are two different members of the same species, with differing patterns (one with white markings on their upper forehead, and other with white markings on their temple. Still, they both share design elements with Day 295’s species, such as an elongated cranium, colorful pigmentation, and white markings on the face including large patches surrounding the eyes and smaller lines on other areas of the head. Despite being different colors in different shows, I am going to go ahead and consider these all to be the same species. I absolutely hate to make assumptions when it comes to species, however, until we learn more these purple individuals will NOT receive their own unidentified species post.

DAY 298 UPDATES: This species actually briefly reappears later in the 1977 run, specifically issue #90, where they are blue instead of green. It must also be noted that they bear a striking resemblance to the Aqualishs featured on the same page, although they are still drawn with slightly different features and clothing color.

SPECIES: Arobernos
DAY 299 UPDATES: Artist Jake Lunt Davies commented to provide a few additional notes and pieces of context.
This species was surprisingly named in the 2024 Comprehensive Encyclopedia, being identified as the Arobernos, who existed in a symbiotic relationship with the newly also identified “Sirroning” known as the “Eye of Webbish Bog.”
SPECIES: Sirroning
DAY 300 UPDATES: In a very surprising twist for me, this mythical species was actually identified in the 2024 Comprehensive Encyclopedia, said be a Sirroning, existing in a symbiotic relationship with the massive Arobernos submerged beneath it. I personally figured this would go the way of the Bendu or even Yoda, but I’m not disappointed that they got ID’d either!
