Cusverian

Last Updated: 01/26/2026

Name: Cusverian

Humanoid: Yes

Classification: Near-Human/Beastite (Suidae)

Homeworld: Unknown (Cusver System)

Coloration: Pink

Biology: The Cusverians were a near-Human species bearing only a few distinct visual traits from the standard Human. They possessed the same general height, weight, build, and frame, with pale pink skin and blonde hair. They had almost porcine faces, with large noses and slightly upturned nostrils, as well as sunken eyes. They also sported pointed ears that jutted out back from the sides of their heads. The species had three dark curved lines that arced over their ears on the sides of their heads, meeting at the tops of their eyes, with dark patches under their eyes, giving way to one squiggly line that ran down their cheeks and slowly faded around their neck. While the exact nature of these lines is unclear, given the shapes and almost bruise-like colorations, it’s highly possible these are distinct veins just under the surface of the skin. The species had the capacity to speak Galactic Basic, could be Force Sensitive, and may have had above average intelligence.

Lore: Little is known about the Cusverians, aside rom the fact they were discovered sometime prior to the “High Republic” era. One member of this species, Levgo Mar, served as a forensic analyst for the Jedi Order by around 132 BBY, though it is unclear how representative this one member was of his entire species. We do also know that the species hailed from some world within the Cusver System found within the Deep Core, though the exact name (presumably also something like “Cusver”) remains unconfirmed.

Continuity: The Cusverians are a species exclusive to Star Wars Canon.

Unexplored: Yet another species from Star Wars live action that I just have to kinda say “everything” when discussing the topics of unexplored aspects (at the very least they actually have a name). I guess tailored questions regarding them could include: When were the Cusverians first discovered? What sort of creature did they evolve from and could they actually be classified as porcine? What is the exact name of their homeworld and what was it like? Being from the Deep Core, are they a more prominent species within the galactic landscape, or was it from an uncharted and dangerous area of space? And was it common for them to be Force Sensitive, did they actually possess a higher baseline intelligence, and could it be linked to the supposed “veins” running along their heads? Aside from that, just tackling our usual list of standard worldbuilding traits bullet-by-bullet would be the best approach to further fleshing out this species.

Additional Notes: I guess I’m sort of impartial regarding the Cusverians as it stands. As far as these sorta generic near-Human live action species go, I do think I like their design more than a lot of the ones made for “The Mandalorian,” and it does help that “The Acolyte” introduced a lot more non-Human-like alien side and background species, so this was seemingly less about necessity of quick, cheap prosthetic designs and more of a choice to make the species the way it is. Still, I’m going to need a little bit more to chew on before I make a strong opinion on the species one way or another, so hopefully we see them pop up again in something else, preferably another medium where they can have a stronger chance to be played around with and shine!
