Name: Wayuning
Humanoid: Yes
Classification: Dwarf
Homeworld: Unknown
Coloration: Unknown
Biology: We know very little about the Wayunings given their obscured appearances, only able to glean that they were bipedal, seemingly standing no taller than 1.2 meters tall, with two arms and two legs. They also presumably had at least two eyes given the horizontal slit featured on their facial covering.
Lore: Currently nothing is known about the Wayunings as a collective species, aside from the fact that they had been discovered and introduced to the galaxy by the height of the First Order-Resistance War. They also seemed to wear full-body coverings, with long, flowing clothing and massive, conical, woven hats that covered their entire head and shoulders.
Continuity: The Wayunings are exclusive to Star Wars Canon, introduced within Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker but not named until one of them, a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard thief named Topi Topi, was featured in the rather obscure Disney Play app minigame “Batuu Bounty Hunters,” useable only at the Galaxy’s Edge theme parks.
Unexplored: At the moment, we can pretty much say everything… I’m surprised we even got a name for this species before so many more prominently featured species throughout the Disney films, but I’m also not complaining and like when random lore tidbits are revealed through unusual and obscure sources! So instead of forming any specific questions at the moment, we’ll just stick to our usual list of worldbuilding traits for now, such as exploring their potential origins, evolution, history, homeworld, environments, appearance, biology, allegiances, culture, civilizations, society, economy, government, politics, exports, colonies, conflicts, advancements, philosophies, religions, traditions, languages, diets, habits, cultural practices, etc.
Additional Notes: Yeah… so I literally have nothing to say about this one at the moment given the fact that we still don’t even have a single clear look at them. I would love to see more BTS sometime, but for now I guess they’re just kind of a species to exist. Hopefully they’ll give us some more info soon!
