Cloddogran

Last Updated: 09/14/2025

Name: Cloddogran

Humanoid: Yes

Classification: Alternative/Beastite

Homeworld: Unknown

Coloration: Gray, Brown, Yellow, and Pink

Biology: Cloddograns were large, bipedal individuals known for their rather repelling appearances. They had stocky builds, standing upwards of 2 meters in height. Their torsos were rounded, giving off an almost bloated demeanor, while also seemingly covered in wrinkles and flaps. Their skin was grayish-brown, covered in a thin layer of brown or yellow hairs, and perpetually coated in gray, pink, or yellow blotches, warts, and blisters. They had two thick legs, as well four swollen arms, each ending in four-fingered hands with dark, wide fingernails.

Cloggograns heads were large, with asymmetrical faces and rolls of flesh around their necks. Their gaping mouths were full of large, gnarly, yellow teeth, while the portion above their upper lip where a nose would usually be was instead a cluster of bright pink fleshy lobes (which may or may not have contained actual nostril openings). They had white eyes with large, black pupils, said eyes buried beneath bushy eyebrows and separated by a ridge that ran up into their bulging brow. Cloddogran ears were fin-like, with webbing between a number of droopy, fleshy points. The species spoke a harsh-sounding language, also known as “Cloddogran,” though they were also capable of pronouncing Galactic Basic.

Lore: We currently know nothing about the Cloddograns, aside from the fact that they were generally viewed as repulsive, and seemingly often possessed reprehensible personalities to boot. They had been discovered some time prior to the height of the First Order-Resistance War, with one, Bargwill Tomder, ending up as a stable master at the Canto Casino and Racetrack in Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica by 34 ABY.

Continuity: The Cloddograns are a species exclusive to Star Wars Canon.

Unexplored: We have no real basis to explore detailed aspects of the species at the moment. I can pose just a few questions that would help with the species’ worldbuilding, but until we learn more, it will be a bit hard to flesh out this segment. First off, where did the Cloddograns come from, what was the name of their homeworld and what was it like, what about it caused the species to evolve in the manner that they did, and when were they first discovered? Did the species have any major alliances, or had they developed such a nasty reputation that others attempted to distance themselves? And was it true they commonly had nasty personalities, or were the worst Cloddograns, like Bargwill Tomder, simply the ones that were the loudest, being the ones the denizens of the galaxy usually remembered? Alongside these slightly more specific concepts, it would also be great to have some established lore surrounding general worldbuilding traits including their history, society, culture, civilizations, government, politics, economy, exports, advancements, arts, philosophies, religions, traditions, habits, cultural practices, etc.

Additional Notes: This is an interesting one that definitely stands out given their strikingly gross appearance, coupled with getting slightly more of the spotlight than most of the other new species that appeared during The Last Jedi’s “Canto Bight” sequence. It’s also a design from one of my favorite modern Star Wars concept artists, Jake Lunt Davies, making it an instant classic in my eyes, although you will see that the finalized design does take on additional elements as compared to the original art, most of which simply serve to make their features even more grotesque. Interested to see if other, different looking members pop up in the future of the franchise, and if so, I’ll update this article accordingly!
