Britarro

Last Updated: 09/09/2025

Name: Britarro

Humanoid: Yes

Classification: Alternative

Homeworld: Britaxis Minor

Coloration: Blue

Biology: Britarros are a humanoid species known for sharing many traits with baseline Humans, while also having a few defining characteristics exclusive to their kind. Britarros stood approximately the same height as the average Human, with the same build, weight, and appendages. Where they began to diverge, however, is that they had completely hairless, light or greenish-blue skin. Britarros had rounded, slightly bulbous heads, with defined brows, large green pupils, rigid cheeks, flat noses with outward facing nostrils, and downturned mouths with little visible lip. Britarros seemingly had the capacity to be Force Sensitive, and they had the ability to pronounce Galactic Basic.

Lore: Nothing is yet known about the Britarros as a species, aside from the fact that they had been discovered and introduced into the greater galaxy sometime prior to the High Republic era, they almost if not always wore a special type of headgear that covers their ears and wraps around the back of their cranium (the purpose of which remains unknown), their homeworld is nestled within “The Slice” in the “Inner Rim,” and number of the species became bounty hunters, mercenaries, or other types of rogues (although it’s unclear whether this was the norm or we have only observed outliers so far). Otherwise, the Britarros remain very mysterious, both in-universe and out.

Continuity: Britarros are exclusive to the current Star Wars Canon.

Unexplored: As defined above, there is a lot of mystery surrounding the Britarro, some of which is seemingly intentional. However, for a background species of this caliber, it would still be nice to have some additional lore surrounding them to help them stand out more and increase their notability and memorability. At this stage, it would be best to simply explore basic concepts such as their history, alliances, politics and government, society and culture, economy and exports, philosophies and religions, habits and traditions, involvement in major events, wars, and eras, galactic reputation, and reasons behind their status as “mysterious.” Getting answers to these, whether dripfed or all in one infodump, would be incredibly beneficial for this species!

Additional Notes: I can’t really say I love the Britarro, but I don’t hate them either. As they exist currently, it feels like they’re kinda just there. I’m glad to see them continually featured in comics or the background of projects The Book of Boba Fett, they seem pretty easy to draw as well as implement via make-up and prosthetics, and I expect we’ll continue to see them around in random places. I just hope with each subsequent appearance they start to give us something of substance, because so many background species, especially of the newer variety, seem to get permanently sidelined, something that I think is antithetical to Star Wars’ whole approach to fleshed-out lore and worldbuilding!
