Name: Bah’r Kilido
Humanoid: Yes
Classification: Alternative
Homeworld: Unknown
Coloration: Pink or Red
Biology: The Bah’r Kilido were a humanoid species featured within relatively early Star Wars media. They had a generally Human-like build, albeit somewhat spindlier and slightly shorter, the latter potentially due to their naturally hunched postures. Their skin was observed to be pink or light red in color, and from what we have seen, they were completely hairless. Their arms were abnormally long in relation to the rest of their bodies, and they had large hands with elongated fingers and sharp claws.
Their heads were noticeably long, with pronounced, hairless brows, flat noses, incredibly wide mouths, and large chins. They also had four white horns on their face, two shorter ones extending from the interiors of their nostrils, and two slightly longer ones protruding from their chin. From what we see, their internals were a yellowish-green color, although it’s unclear whether this was just the main portions of their dermis, or even their blood. We know nothing about the Bah’r Kilido’s longevity, developmental changes, or reproductive process, but we do know that they were capable of speaking Galactic Basic.
Lore: Unfortunately we were never given much expansion regarding the Bah’r Kilido’s lore. Their homeworld and collective history was never revealed, and only one confirmed Bah’r Kilido ever actually appeared. This instance was named Suppoon, a crime lord, rival to Jabba the Hutt, and close associate of the Galactic Empire. Whether this is representative of the alliances of most of the species, or if Suppoon is simply an outlier, was never revealed, though given we no others among the many aliens in his court seems to support the latter. At the very least, they were present in some capacity during the Galactic Civil War.
Continuity: The Bah’r Kilido only currently exist within Star Wars Legends media.
Unexplored: As with so many of these early sentient species, if they didn’t appear in a film, the chances of them getting extended lore were incredibly low. This is definitely the case for the Bah’r Kilido. Instead of exploring anything very specific or in-depth, the best things a writer or creator can do to make this species noteworthy is to simply lay the groundwork. Whether it is based off of some preexisting, real life infrastructure or a bizarre, inhuman concept is fully up to the individual expanding upon this lore. However, there should at least be a concrete idea regarding many of the following subjects on our worldbuilding trait list, including the Bah’r Kilido’s society, history, government, culture, homeworld, practices, exports, ideologies, allies, enemies, and place within the universe. Extra illustrations or depictions of other instances, including women and children, would also be incredibly helpful!
Additional Notes: As far as species clearly created to be one-offs go, the Bah’r Kilido really are not that interesting. The two most notable traits to me are the name, which is definitely more uniquely spelled than most, and their almost slight resemblance to the Sith species, though even that’s debatable. However, if, like the species like the Myke supposedly are, the Bah’r Kilido were actually distant descendants of the ancient Sith, that would make them infinitely more interesting in my opinion and truly worth exploring in-depth across the eras!
