Biology: The Tectozin were a bipedal, almost slug-like species that could be found throughout the galaxy. They stood between 2.2 and 2.5 meters in height and had a very thick build. Their arms and legs were very muscular and they had retractable claws on their hands and possibly feet. They possessed long, muscular necks with two pointed lobes poking out on the sides slightly beneath their mouths. Their heads were rather crab-like, with a flat, fan-like top, a large mouth and long tongue, and two black eyes attached to fairly long eye stalks. They had the capacity to speak Basic, but it is unclear what color they actually are, as well as if they would be better classified as a Crustacean or an Insectoid species.

Lore: The Tectozin were a sentient race supposedly native to a mining world known simply as “The Deep.” There, a number of them had been employed as a workforce and makeshift security team by a wealthy mining family made up of the unidentified insectoid individuals, Lord Kluleyeke and Lady Eekee. This arrangement continued until shortly after the Battle of Yavin when Luke Skywalker put a stop to their corrupt endeavors via a droid-led rebellion, shaking up the status quo and setting the Tectozin on a new uncharted path.

Legends/Canon: The Tectozin are a fairly recent addition to Star Wars Canon and are currently still considered nothing more than an obscure one-off species.

Unexplored: Practically everything in regards to the Tectozin still needs to be extensively fleshed out. Especially the basics like: Is The Deep truly their homeworld, or were they imported there some time in the past? What would they be classified as in-universe (insectoid, crustacean, etc.)? Are they common throughout the greater galaxy, isolationists on their homeworld, or nearly extinct? Do they have any notable natural abilities that set them apart from other species? What color(s) are they, and do they have subspecies or gender-based variations? Do they have any longtime traditions, social practices, or distinct religious beliefs? What sort of societal and economic structure can be found on their homeworld? When were they first discovered, and did they have any other outside allyships or relationships? And were they ever any notable Tectozin throughout intergalactic history?

Additional Notes: I’ll be honest… this is one of my favorite alien designs to come from modern Star Wars! I NEED to know more about them, and see them appear in a future animated series or video game for sure (not sure how well they would translate to live action though)! Please give me a Tectozin Bounty Hunter or Jedi soon Star Wars/Lucasfilm/Disney/anyone… please!?
