Sakuubian

Last Updated: 12/18/2023

Name: Sakuubian

Humanoid: Yes

Classification: Near-Human/Beast (Feline)

Homeworld: Sakuub

Coloration: Blue, Purple, or Pink

Biology: Sakuubians were a near-Human species with some fairly unique biological traits. They had the same general height and build of the average Human, however their pigmentation was usually bright purple, although it could be varying shades blue or pink as well. They were very muscular and agile, described as having cat-like reflexes. They had two sets of horns that were the same color as their skin, pink or purple hair, and red or pink eyes with vertical, feline-like pupils.

Lore: Nothing is known about the Sakuubians aside from the fact that they were considered very cat-like, had notably good natural agility, were integrated into the greater galaxy, and originated from the planet Sakuub. Sakuub itself was a tourist/honeymoon world notable for its old, aesthetic cities and the famous “Sky Temple of Karsol.”

Legends/Canon: The Sakuubians are not Canon, nor are any events they were ever associated with. In fact, only two Sakuubians were ever featured across the entirety of the EU, and the authenticity of the one featured in the only known illustration of the species, Pharika, has often been brought into question, with the idea that she was actually possibly nothing more than a Human disguised as a Sakuubian understandably thrown around.

Unexplored: Most everything above still requires additional exploration. Were the Sakuubians associated with any factions in the greater galaxy, were they travelers, or did they generally stay on their homeworld, and were they ever caught up in any sort of war or conflicts? Did they have any major exports, when did their tourism industry begin, and exactly how lucrative was it at any given time? Because of their natural agility and prowess, were they popular among the assassin or bounty hunter circles? And finally, what were they up to during different eras like the Old/High Republic, Clone Wars, or even the Canon Cold War? Once these have been established, you can begin to delve into the finer worldbuilding details of the species, their culture, their history, and them as individuals based off of what may have shaped them given their origins and circumstances.

Additional Notes: Definitely not the most interesting near-Human or feline species, but there is still some unique potential. The coloration and design is fairly distinguishable, but we just need to find a way to make them more memorable. That would definitely be easy if they are ever brought over to Canon, as they would start off as an even blanker slate than they currently are!
