Biology: The Sipsk’ud were a distinct avian species from an unidentified planet located in the Sipsk System. Biologically they seemed very similar to a large duck, standing on presumably two webbed feet and using prehensile feathers in their wings to double as fingers. They had white feathers, a rounded yellow or orange beak, and a unique cluster of seven eyes arranged in a roughly hexagonal shape with a slightly larger eye located in the middle. Their exact height is indeterminable, although it was much larger than an average duck but somewhat shorter than the average humanoid. They were always seen wearing sealed suits and helmets, indicating that they cannot survive in most atmospheres outside of their homeworld. It also seems as though they were capable of speaking Basic.

Lore:  The majority of the Sipsk’ud history and society remains shrouded in mystery. We know that they have been around since before the Old Republic, and have been observed across the galaxy throughout the ages, although we’ve never actually learned about their homeworld. During the Old Republic era, many of them were converted to Vianism by settlers who saw them as gullible and easily influenced. During the Clone Wars many of them had migrated to the planet Nar Shaddaa. And at least some of them opposed the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. They had a very unique style or space suit that may have been some indication of their culture advancements or aesthetic, however, nothing else has really been divulged about the species.

Legends/Canon: This species only exists in Legends.

Unexplored: There is a whole lot of mystery surrounding this species, whether intentionally or not. The first things that would be nice to know are what is their homeworld called, what does it look like, and what is so different about their atmosphere that they can’t breathe in most others? It would also be interesting to know just how technologically or socially advanced they are, as their suits seem rather high tech but we know, at least during the Old Republic, they were still a rather simple people. Were they ever officially affiliated with any galactic faction like the Republic, or did they always remain neutral? Why did they move to Nar Shaddaa? What did they look like under the suits? And did any ever officially side with the Rebel Alliance?

Additional Notes: There are few species I want Canonized more than the Sipsk’ud. It’s such a hilarious design that is just the kind of absurdist Star Wars that I love. If any official Star Wars authors or illustrators ever see this, PLEASE Canonize the Sipsk’ud somehow, someway.
