Name: Didynon
Humanoid: Yes
Classification: Alternative
Homeworld: Didyma V
Coloration: White and Gray
Biology: Didynon were a relatively humanoid species, featuring a cephalopod-like Head and white, segmented, possibly armored skin. They had no visible neck, multiple chins, a permanently downturned mouth, wide set eyes on pseudo-stalks, and armored “plates” starting on it’s forehead and running down it’s back. They had large, three-fingered hands and stood slightly shorter than an average adult human.
Lore: Almost nothing is known about the Didynon society. One of things we do know is that the Didyma System, and specifically their homeworld of Didyma V, were completely occupied by the First Order before the Battle of Exegol, causing at least of few of their people to flee or escape from the world and join the Resistance. They were major producers of the ore, Lommite, which the First Order coveted because of it’s used for “transparisteel,” a valuable resource in shipbuilding.
Legends/Canon: Didynon did not exist in Legends, and were only somewhat recently introduced into the Canon universe thanks to Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
Unexplored: Technically everything about this creature would be considered unexplored. We may get extended lore about the creature sometime in the future, but until then, feel free to lay the species’ ground works (i.e. homeworld, culture, biology, history, traditions, mannerisms) before diving deeper into a Didynon character or the race overall.
Additional Notes: Based off of it’s general cephalopod-like appearance, many people assume it may be amphibious in nature, however, this has you to be confirmed. It definitely has a unique, yet familiar feeling look, that fits into the Star Wars universe rather seamlessly. If you plan on writing something set in the Resistance era, this would be a great character or even entire people to add to your story’s roster!
