Coloration: Purplish-Blue

Biology: The Q’Itane were an uncommon near-Human species that seemingly hailed from the planet Upper Entrega. It seems as though they were nearly identical to that of baseline Humans, aside from their distinctive blue pigmentation and slightly enlarged irises. Certain areas on their body, such as their lips, noses, ears, and the areas around their eyes took on a much pinker hue. It is also unclear if all Q’Itane had white hair, or only the older members of the species, although they seemingly lacked eyebrows. They could pronounce Galactic Basic and seemed to have lifespans similar to that of the average Human and near-Human species.

Lore: Quite literally nothing is known about the Q’Itane people. Only one individual has ever been seen in the galaxy, and they did not mention anything about their homeworld, society, culture, or anything else. In fact, while this individual who went by the name Trusk Berinato was from Upper Entrega, it’s not made perfectly clear that that is actually the entire species’ homeworld. The only things we know are that they have been integrated into the greater galaxy as whole by the start of the Galactic Civil War and have intelligence on par with that of most similar near-Human species.

Legends/Canon: The only Q’Itane in Star Wars exists solely within Star Wars Canon.

Unexplored: With the information we’re given, we don’t need to dive too deep into the specifics of who the Q’Itane were as a species. Instead, we simply need to establish the basics. Are they actually from Upper Entrega, and if not, where are they from? Is Trusk an average representation of what they look like, or is he considered an outlier? And is there a visible difference between the males and females of the species? What is something societally, culturally, or traditionally that sets them apart from your run of the mill Human in Star Wars? Did they ally themselves with any major institution, such as the Republic, or even the Empire (like we see with Trusk)? What was their history within the galactic landscape, and did any event cause them to particularly stand out? These, as well as many other fundamental questions and concepts, can help you flesh out who your character is going to be via their established history and predispositions.

Additional Notes: I think the Q’Itane seem perfectly fine, if not a little boring design-wise. There are already so many other blue-skinned humanoid or even near-Human species that are more fleshed out, and I’m curious why they didn’t just make Trusk one of those. But I suppose the more different aliens populating the universe, the merrier. Still, if you’re looking for something that looks or feels similar to the Q’Itane but more fleshed out, consider races such as the Mirialans, Sephi, Arthurians, Aruzan, or even the Britarro or Ginmids.
